Arts et Métiers is partnering with METRON, a cleantech specialist in energy efficiency for the industrial sector, to integrate the METRON platform into the Arts et Métiers  curriculum and optimize the energy efficiency of the 8 Arts et Métiers campuses.

The METRON platform is a central digital solution for visualizing, tracking in real time, optimizing and modelling an entity's energy performance strategy and decarbonization roadmap.

It enables Arts et Métiers and its engineering students to learn how to control their energy consumption, and to use the platform as a teaching tool in their learning. It also contributes to raising awareness and training future engineers in the importance of digital energy management.

From September to March this year, a group of students devoted part of their time to energy optimization on the Arts et Métiers campus in Lille. This work not only improved the campus' energy performance, but also enhanced the students' skills in data-driven energy management, through the provision of data sets on industrial equipment.

A TRAINING PROGRAM BASED ON THE ARTS ET MÉTIERS CONNECTED FACTORY-SCHOOL MODEL

METRON also offers training in energy and data to Arts et Métiers students to complement their training. A registered training organization since early 2023 and Qualiopi-certified since June 2023, METRON provides its e-learning platform, METRON Academy, to help students develop their skills in these key areas.

This training program was co-constructed with Arts et Métiers. METRON benefits from the excellence of Arts et Métiers in terms of teaching and learning, in particular the Evolutive Learning Factories developed on each Campus. These scalable production lines, representative of the industry of the future, are fully digitized and equipped with digital twins to train Arts et Métiers students and teachers. They can also be used by partner companies, including METRON.

Vincent Sciandra, CEO of METRON, commented: "We are delighted with this partnership with Arts et Métiers, which illustrates our determination to play a driving and concrete role in the training of future key players in industry and research. By giving them access to our platform and our expertise, we are helping to prepare young talent and make digital a useful tool for meeting tomorrow's energy and climate challenges. This innovative partnership paves the way for future collaborations with other higher education institutionss, helping to raise awareness among an entire generation of engineers of the role of digital in decarbonization. "

Xavier Chateau, Vice President of the Arts et Métiers group: "Accompanying companies in the conquest of their societal and environmental responsibilities by training their future leaders is a priority for Arts et Métiers. Training our students in digitized energy optimization solutions, such as those developed by METRON, illustrates our shared commitment to developing skills in an industrial-scale environment, like an evolving learning factory.
